Then, we took it to the roof. At Fresh & Chill in South City, Saint Louis we proved that you don’t have to stay up until 2 AM to experience a world-class dance floor.

This is nightlife on our terms, accessible for the parents, the millennials, and the folks who prioritize rest but still want to move.

This is about building endurance.

If you’ve ever been to OTF, you know it’s HARD AF 😂.

Here are my real ass tips as a certified personal trainer, fitness instructor & yoga teacher:

• A steady BPM (this set is 110-114)

• Create a breathing pattern that matches your steps 1,2 or 1-4

• Listen to music you like

• Don’t stop breathing

• Don’t HOLD your breath

• When it gets hard, BIG exhale to replenish yourself

We took over SweetArt in St. Louis to celebrate my Dominican bestie, Valeria Rodriguez. Inspired by the Goddess Oshun, the room was a sea of gold, cream, and denim—a literal work of art.

From the Insta360 “behind-the-decks” views to the iPhone captures of the dance floor, the vibe was unmatched.

We journeyed through:

• The Sounds: A soulful blend of Soul, R&B, Afrobeats, Latin, Dancehall, and House.

• The Energy: Line dancing, hilarious bridal games (yes, including the penis drawing contest!), and an epic dance-off. 😂

• The Vibe: Dominican and Island roots meeting Black soulful excellence.

Being a Peruvian-American from the San Francisco Bay Area, seeing our Latin culture take center stage in my own hometown was everything!
