Hey Familia,

There is nothing quite like watching five-year-olds and seventy-year-olds hit the same line dance on a sunny Sunday morning.

Yesterday, August 2nd, we hosted The First Open Family Reunion (The Backyard Social), and it was the ultimate blueprint for community unity. We had over 30 people fill the yard with pure joy, kids playing, double dutch ropes swinging, giant chess and Big Uno matches, bubbles floating across the patio, and the smell of incredible mac and cheese catered by @mealsbymili.

The best part? It was a wholesome, high-vibe daytime social, and everyone was wrapped up and home by 2:00 PM. It was absolutely perfect.

First off, thank you to everyone who pulled up to HandleBar! The energy in the room was unbelievable, the 360 camera footage was insane, and our recent event recaps and clips have been doing crazy numbers on socials.

The momentum this summer is real, but as much as I love a wild night out, nightlife can be exhausting. So, we decided to build something better.

On July 8th, I took the decks at Sophie’s Artist Lounge inside the Kranzberg Arts Foundation for a special 3-hour All Star Happy Hour DJ Set, hosted alongside A Turn At The Table.

Sophie’s isn’t just another venue for me, it’s where my DJ journey began. It’s where I took my first group lessons, met my 1:1 mentor, and spun my very first 20-minute open deck sets (you can still watch my February 20-minute set on YouTube). To return to that exact room and hold down a 3-hour sonic arc for a house packed with STL’s most dedicated artists and friends was pure magic.

For a long time, we’ve been told that success requires grueling hustle. But if my journey through the music industry and creative entrepreneurship has taught me anything, it’s that true success is about alignment, not exhaustion.

Yesterday, I spent two beautiful hours sitting at the dining room table at my soul sister Arion Castillo’s house. We brainstormed, envisioned, and dug deep into our truest desires to map out the next 12 weeks using her life-changing framework: The Big Energy Planner.

The Receipts: Why I’m Hooked (My Round 1 Wins)

I didn’t just pick up this planner on a whim; I’ve spent the last 12 weeks LIVING IT. Round 1 was an absolute masterclass in alignment. When I look back at my receipts from April through June, the proof is undeniable.

Through intentional goal setting, I held space for massive Career & DJ Wins (spinning for City Garden Montessori, Tampa Bay Tech Week, Chicken N Pickle’s Cinco De Mayo, and launching my own Open Decks House Parties). I even took a creative field trip to Chicago and saw BIG K.R.I.T. live for the second time.

But the real magic of Arion’s framework is that it doesn’t let you neglect your life outside the hustle. Because I was tracking my energy, I got my nonprofit paperwork fully organized, built out my website foundation, secured an incredible industry mentor with 20 years in the game, and treated myself to restorative massages and saw fitness gains at OrangeTheory.

Most importantly, I won at home. I taught both of my boys how to ride their bikes, engineered a brand new chores and money system, grew our garden, and brought a deep sense of peace and clarity into our household.

The Growing Pains

It wasn’t perfect. True ‘iron sharpening’ requires looking at your obstacles honestly. This past quarter, I fought friction in parenting, budgeting, and learning to trust the timing of things. I noticed moments where I was pushing, forcing, rushing, and interrupting instead of breathing and listening. I caught myself skipping the restorative naps and meditation I desperately needed.

So for Round 2, I’m actively upgrading. I’m focusing on radical patience, listening deeply, slowing down my speech, and nourishing my body with real fuel. I’m choosing more hiking, yoga, art, and red-light therapy, while aggressively cutting back on over-volunteering, perfectionism, and unnecessary guilt.

I’m moving into this next quarter completely anchored in the 8 types of rest (physical, mental, sensory, creative, emotional, social, spiritual & cognitive) because I am ready for pure abundance, pleasure, and absolute freedom.

For July, August, and September, my focus is purely on expanding my financial baseline, creating global partnerships that allow me to travel, and scaling my content reach.

Q3 Goals & Affirmations

When it comes to brand partnerships, my philosophy is simple: With music, fun, devotion & embodiment, we win TOGETHER. I am calling in brands, nonprofits, and beautiful hospitality spaces that want to empower communities just as much as I do.

Here is exactly what I am holding myself accountable to this quarter:

• Finance ($5,000+/month or greater): Launching the Summer DJ Youth Academy, hosting monthly Open Decks House Parties, finalizing the open-air Pachamama Family Reunion on August 2nd, and securing consistent private and public gigs. (Reward: A full spa day).

• Relationships & Global Networking: Connecting with dream venues, hotels, and 501(c)3 organizations worldwide to be paid to travel, work, and bring high-vibe music to gorgeous spaces. (Reward: A massive celebration party).

We officially launched our first Open Decks DJ House Party (the next evolution of our DJ AO PreGame Series), and the energy was pure magic. We opened up our doors, lit up the patio, filled the space with incredible catering from Hope’s Kitchen, and brought together four local St. Louis local artists.

The true heartbeat of this movement is collective growth. I am incredibly honored to share that I have stepped into a formal mentorship under DJ Manifest, who has spent over 20 years sharpening this craft. Alongside veteran DJ Jillian (12 years in the game), myself (4 years), and DJ Spacetime (3-5 years), we are building a living pipeline of artistic mentorship in this city.

The Live Feature: The Technical 1-for-1 Blend Session

This recording isn’t just a standard party mix. It is a live demonstration of a high-level DJ Drill: Going 1-for-1.

In the second half of this set, DJ Manifest and I stand shoulder-to-shoulder, freestyle transitioning tracks back-to-back. Mixing one single song directly into the next without missing a beat. Cruising through a smooth and soulful 73–100 BPM lane, I bridge ancestral Salsa and Island frequencies with Manifest & I’d impromptu Hip Hop and house.

You’ll hear Elvis Crespo and Joe Arroyo crashing effortlessly into G-Unit, Ludacris, Janet Jackson, Burna Boy, and Kendrick Lamar, layered with premium club edits from Onderkoffer, TWRK, and Da Phonk Club.
